A Murray man has been arrested in connection with a burglary and assault that occurred last week in Hazel.

On Friday, December 20, Rick A. White, 41, allegedly forced his way into a home in Hazel. Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene, but by the time they arrived, White was gone. The residents told them that when they tried to get White out of the house, he assaulted them. They said White had been trespassed from the home earlier. Deputies reported White was uncooperative with the investigation, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.

White was reported to be at an apartment belonging to Kimberly Puckett, 41, on Christmas Day on Diuguid Drive, but when deputies went to the door, there was no answer. They marked the apartment and when they saw White and others leaving, they approached. White saw them and ran back inside. He allegedly hid when deputies entered the apartment. He resisted but was eventually arrested. Puckett was also arrested because she allegedly tried to stop White’s arrest. It was also said that she had drugs in her possession.

White was served the warrant for burglary, assault and criminal trespass, in addition to fleeing or aiding police and resisting arrest. Puckett was charged with possession of methamphetamine and hindering prosecution.
