Bristol man arrested over Christmas Day armed robbery in Newington

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) – A Bristol man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a Cumberland farm at knifepoint on Christmas Day.

Newington police say the robbery happened at Cumberland Farms on Cedar Street at 7:56 p.m.

Store employees alerted police that the suspect, later identified as Dylan Martin, 32, of Bristol, was armed with a knife and fled the scene.

Newington Police K9 Ray chased Martin from Cumberland Farms to CT Fastrak Highway.

Police say Martin matched the description of the suspect and ran from officers when confronted.

K9 Ray and officers tracked Martin, eventually taking him into custody.

He was charged with robbery in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree, interfering with an officer and failure to pay or plead.

Martin was held on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court today.
